Day 3 - May 8

Aloha from Brazil,

Thank you all for your prayers! Day 3 in Brazil was a good day!

After a goodnight of sleep, we awoke eager to see what the day would bring. We jumped in Sammy's car and went for coffee. Through further investigation, Jenny, Michael and I discovered this coffee shop is one of Jason's favorite places for his "Cappuccino Ministry". It was a delight to have Sammy and Jason, two spiritual giants, spend some serious discipleship time with the three of us. After we finished our coffee, pastries, oh and Jake's mango frappe, we headed to town. The little downtown had such character and further emphasized to us that we were in Brazil!
Through out our stay here, several event/workshops are being organized. Our first was a women self-defense class, taught by Michael and translated by Sammy. The class went really well! It was exciting to see five unchurched, totally new faces to Sammy at the class! During the class, Michael correlated the self-defense moves to our spiritual life, how we will be attacked and we need to be prepared to give a defense at all times! At the end of the class the gospel was presented.
By the time everyone retired for the evening, the team returned to Sammy and Marcia's house. Sammy cooked Brazilian BBQ for us! The meat was so yummy! Just like the restaurant everything from chicken hearts to sirloin was served. We all came to an agreement that Sammy's BBQ was much better than the restaurant! With full bellies we headed to bed!

Please continue to pray that we would have clear communication with everyone. Also, pray for the youth! We have a couple of outreach events planned with them in mind. Marcia told us the other day, that she has been encouraged by the team since we have arrived! Praise be to the Lord! Thank you for your continued prayers!!

"For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life" 2 Cor 2:15,16

On behalf of the team,
